After our cockatiel passed away I was devestated but found the Little Tweet website and after learning about parrotlets, my husband and I decided to purchase two of the green-rumped parrotlets. Kelli was superb in answering all my many, many emails of questions to make sure we would have a "good fit". Jack and Jill arrived just before Christmas 2010, and we were like new expectant parents when we picked them up at the airport. We could hardly wait to get the babies home to see what they were like. They are just precious and adjusted quickly to their new home and routine. Jack and Jill are extremely loving to both of us, smart, quiet, and not nearly as messy as other birds. Their favorite activity is riding on our shoulders or on top of our heads. Jack is just a bit more shy than Jill but is a mamas boy and learned to talk quickly. His vocabulary includes: a wolf whistle, mimicing a laugh, "I'm a pretty birdie", "pretty birdie", "mamas big boy", and "mamas baby"!. Both he and Jill love to cluck at you and are like shadows of each other---where one is, so is the other. We keep their wings clipped and although they have free-run, they best love to play on top of their cage on the playground. Both love a variety of foods, nuts, veggies, fruits, 12-grain toast, and of course the Little Tweet birdie bread. We would highly recommend to anyone wishing to purchase a parrotlet that they contact Little Tweet because of the loving care they give their babies and the truthfulness of their website information. The life-time health guarantee is a plus, and the babies arrive healthy, beautiful and socialized. We will forever be so grateful to Kelli for supplying us with such bundles of joy!

Hi Little Tweet:
Happy to report that Little Jingles has gotten comfortable in our home and really blossomed. He loves to jump up on our hands and be walked around. He likes to swing in my daughter's hair and fly around land on the window sills. Outside our kitchen windows we have lots of wild birds and they are quite noisy, but he is no longer afraid. He chirps right along with them. He loves to cuddle now and plays all day long inside his cage. We are all crazy about him. Thanks for your support in the transition process.

Very Best,
Courtney, New York

Judson and Blue (Turquoise boy) get along great. Judson likes for him to sit on him while he reads -- and he reads A LOT! He's still a little pesky to try and get out of the cage, but once he's out he's very sweet, and happy to fly from one person's head to another. The baby, Greer, who is 3, actually will have me get him out during the day while Judson is at school so he can watch TV with her -- he sits on her head while she lays in bed!

Thank you for the information on Blue. We love to celebrate birthdays, and now we can officially celebrate his.

Here is a photo of the first day that Judson could get him out of his cage after traveling. The second pic was Blue getting to know his surroundings.
Once I figure out how to use my new camera I will send you a more updated photo of Blue and his new colors!

Angelito arrive healthy and happy. I let him have a few days in the cage alone to adjust to his new home. My friends are phoning me now to make appointments to meet Angelito. Yesterday, he got a Welcome to the Neighborhood Card from a friend on the block. He's a celebrity!
What a joy he is! He has set his routine, he eats at 7:30 am and 3:00 pm. His favorite food is the tweet bread. After he eats his regular diet, he gets his tweet bread. He's becoming a "little porker." Today I'm tempting him to climb on my hand with treats. You have made an old retired priest very happy with my new friend.
At cardiac rehab, the nurse wanted to know what I did to get my blood pressure under control, I told her it was Angelito, my bird buddie. I don't know if I told you, I have an allergy to birds. I had to give away three birds because of the allergy. My vet suggested I try a small bird - so I found Angelito. I have no trouble with him, I take a generic (over the counter) tab and everything if fine.

Thanks for all you do for us bird lovers, for the quick answers to e-mails and espically for our birds.
In Him,

Paul ,Wisconsin

Welcome Valentino!

We want to thank Little Tweet for our beautiful baby boy. We picked Valentino (Turquoise boy) up from the airport on Valentine's Day so no other name would do. The name suits him well because he is the biggest "Love Bug" ever. Valentino is super sweet and has a very nice calmness about him. He just can't get enough of the neck tickles and snuggles we give.

Without a doubt, Little Tweet really love what they do and it shows in the loving Parrotlets they have for adoption. Their Professionalism in answering all our questions and concerns and getting our baby to us safely was outstanding. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a new Parrotlet.

Sincerely,

Maria, Florida

July 27, 2010, I lost Petey, my parrotlet of 9 1/2 years. He was a bratty little boy, but I missed him! I got online, started searching for parrotlet breeders, and found Little Tweet. I loved all the information on their website and pictures of their birds. I decided on a yellow mutation. Popcorn arrived via Delta Dash September 7. After the initial adjustment period, he liked to snuggle in my hair and fall asleep while I was on the computer. A very sweet boy! Then while looking at the Little Tweet website again, I fell in love with pictures of the blue parrotlets. October 12, Wedgewood arrived! And I was right, 2 were double the fun! Another evening I was looking at Little Tweet's website and discovered they had turquoise babies! I don't know what got into me, but Zuni (named for an Indian tribe known for their turquoise among other things) flew home November 12, one cold, rainy night. So now I have 3, known as My 3 Sons, and they are all little characters, each with a different personality. Although they were not my first parrotlets, and I do have other parrots, I still had questions. Little Tweet was very patient, answering all my concerns. They sent me beautiful pictures of each boy so I was completely smitten with all three before I even laid eyes on them! They are all delightful, healthy little boys, all 3 having bright vibrant feathers with beautiful colors. I couldn't be more pleased with the birds and their temperaments, and Little Tweet's dedication and communication!

This is my cousin Jacoby at Christmas. He played with Tiki with WONDER in his eyes and she was so amazingly gentle and patient. They were here for a huge family gathering at Christmas. Tiki was so good with the kids. She particularly liked Jacoby. We could not be more thrilled with Tiki. She is so smart, funny, loving, and full of personality. We have many parties and gatherings and Tiki is the life of the party doing tricks and visiting our guests. We can't thank you enough for such a wonderful pet and you guys have always been helpful with questions and tips.

I met Kelli on Twitter a year ago. I had adopted a Blue Pied Pacific Parrotlet from someone here in the Bay Area and didn't know much about the breed. Kelli immediately offered to help me out and give me advice and information on how to understand parrotlets and how to take care of them. I started getting their birdie bread, which all my birds love, and which really helped our birds when they went through their molt. She was so helpful and kind and I definitely couldn't have done it without her.

At first, I couldn't have another parrotlet because we already had 2 lovebirds at that time, but deep down in my heart I knew I had to adopt one of Kelli's babies because she would share photos and share with me how she would take care of the babies around the clock, which really touched my heart because Kelli puts so much time and love into all her babies which is just really heartwarming. I emailed with Kelli back and forth for over six months to figure out which parrotlet would be best for me, and I ended up adopting a beautiful, gorgeous, and sweet Green Rumped Parrotlet whom my partner and I named Paco.

Paco is a gem. He is one of the best blessings my partner and I have had in years. When we first met him at the airport in San Francisco, I peeked into the travel carrier and saw his tiny and precious self looking at me with his bright eyes, just happily eating away. It took him two weeks or so to adjust to his new surroundings, but as soon as he started trusting us and as soon as he felt right at home, he just blossomed into a beautiful and silly bird. It's just impossible not to fall in love with Paco. He is so chill, so sweet, and so funny! Whenever I leave the house, even just to get something in the garden, he says "hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!" as soon as I open the door which just melts my heart every time! When he's in his cage and wants us to say hello to him, he'll say "Pacoooooooo!" or "helloooooooooo" or "hiiiiiiii" in a super high voice which is just so adorable that all you want to do is give him little birdie kisses! He loves to say "pretty bird" or "pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty bird" when he plays in his cage, and whenever we feed him, he says, "eat, eat, eat" as soon as he steps on the bowl. He also says, "how are you? what're you doin?" and says our other bird's name, "Bebe!". We got him in October so he can say a lot of words for a little baby that's been with us for only 5 months. He is super smart and is very easy to teach tricks like turn around or fly on my finger when I call him.

I've recommended Little Tweet to all my bird friends and friends who are thinking of getting a bird for the first time. Kelli is all hands-on with her babies, and she and her partner have devoted their entire lives to taking care of parrotlets in the best way possible. I trust only them because of their professionalism, sincerity, love, and kindness. You will get only the best from Little Tweet, no doubt about that. Their babies are super worth it :)

Little Tweet is fantastic to deal with via the phone and email. Never once did a question or concern go unanswered. Pleasant, friendly, informative, professional is what you will receive from Little Tweet. My little baby boy is beautiful, friendly and fun to watch and enjoy. From the first night home, he was stepping up onto my fingers and giving me kisses. He loves to play in my hair and hide. Totally adorable, totally precious. Thank you so much. I will highly recommend you and your aviary to anyone looking for a great baby parrotlet.

I recently adopted a Green Pacific Parrotlet from LittleTweet and I could not be happier! Cooper is well socialized, steps up and enjoys scritches. He settled in very quickly and it was obvious he was well cared for and loved at LittleTweet. I highly recommend LittleTweet for a well adjusted, healthy, sweet parrotlet! I am so happy with my little green boy! Thank you for doing such a wonderful job with him Kelli!

I Purchased My (Turquoise Pied) Male Parrotlet Elmo Last August. When he arrived in Montana he had to go another 120 miles till he got home. He chirped all the way home and ran to me when I took him out of his carrier. Did not even faze him a bit. He is a fantastic bird/ loves to cuddle but also lets you know when he is ready to go back into his cage. Little Tweet were and still are always there when I have a question or a concern. I had a million questions for them believe me. I buy their birdie bread already made up and Elmo loves it. I would not buy another bird from anyone else. Hmm, I might see a green rumped parrotlet sometime in my future. Little Tweet is fantastic. I can't say enough good about them.

Dear Kelli,

Thank you for Jack Jack. He's doing so well, and even already in such a short time. We clicked right away and I love him. He's so sweet and I'm looking forward to spending the rest of my life with my little boy. He loves to sit on my shoulders, and he loves to crawl onto my head and watch what I type on the computer. He is very affectionate, and is so happy where he is. I usually hear him singing when I come home, and when I talk to him he talks right back to me. I find myself missing him when I'm not at home. Oh, and he says hi, he's standing on my shoulders watching me type. Again, thank you so much, I'm very pleased with my parrotlet.

I wish to thank Little Tweet for their help as I begin my new adventure as a hobbyist breeder of parrotlets. I have purchased four pairs of parrotlets from Little Tweet and although it's a little soon – I'm anxious to see them begin to produce. In the mean time, they make the most beautiful sound! If I close my eyes, I almost feel like I'm in the warm Amazon (which is worth a lot when you're from Colorado). Little Tweet is wonderful to work with and quickly answer my questions. I have learned how much love and care they place in their birds. The beautiful, healthy, little parrotlets arrived tucked safely in their carrier. Little Tweet has also given me pointers and encouragement which means a great deal. I sincerely recommend Little Tweet Aviary to anyone looking for either a fantastic companion bird or breeder pairs.

This is Evelyn, Zack's mommy,

I have a question, did you realize you were selling me a little genius ? Zack will be only 3 months old Dec 30th and he is already talking a blue streak.

He says "Give me a kiss," (with the smoochy sound, 3 times)
"Where is the duck ?" Quack, quack, quack..
"What are you doin ?"
"Pretty boy and Pretty girl" ..and says it in a South New Jersey accent..Ha !

I can't believe he is so smart, sweet, funny, and seems to be very happy..
Just wanted to update you.. Hope you had a good Christmas and wish you and yours a very Happy New Year !

It's been a little over a year since i received my little green fluffy man and it's been an adventure ever since! We named him Chewie because of his relentless desire to chew everything in sight! His toys, my clothes etc... My husband and I adore all his crazy antics and look forward to what he will do next! Every morning starts with a daily flight around the bedroom(all doors and window safely closed of course.) and snuggling up in the people bed. Beware sleeping humans the furry green monster is coming to nibble on your nose and your toes. Next he takes a bath in his fresh water(so I usually have to change that a second time) and enjoys his breakfast of fruit, nuts, seeds and veggies. (Man oh man those raspberries are sure hard to resist!) Then he serenades us with the sounds he learned to make like wolf whistling, my husband's humming, kissing noises etc... Thank you so much little tweet for the joy you gave us!

Just wanted to update you on Zack.. We have had him for 2 weeks now and he has adjusted wonderfully, he is so sweet, happy, and smart.. You Kelli, have socialized him so well, from the moment we got home with him, he stepped up right from his crate, by the next day he was giving me kisses. He loves to play with his toys and his favorite things are eating and being a velcro bird, he loves to be on my shoulder. When we go out for awhile and come home, he is right at the cage door begging to come out and see me. He acts like he has been here his whole life of 10 weeks.. He got a perfect exam from the Vet, and he was a good boy..

We are just so happy with him, someday in the future I can see a little yellow Parrotlet boy from Little Tweet. Hope your Christmas is a good one and your New Year is the best ever..I know ours will be with our little Zack..

I want to say thank you, for all the great pictures you sent us, all the updates, being so kind as Zack was growing up. You never failed to email me back with any questions I had and treated us like we were the only customers you had, which I know you have many, you have such a way of making each person feel so important..

Hope all is well with you, I just wanted to let you know that Leo is doing absolutely wonderfully. He is such an amazing little guy, he's got so much personality and we enjoy his company so much. When he first got
here, he ate mostly his millet, but now that he knows he's a part of our family, he eats off our plates and loves sitting on our shoulders nestled up in our hair. My daughter adores him so much that for halloween, she
dressed up as a parrotlet! I just wanted to thank you for giving us such a great pet!

I just want to say that our two new additions have been wonderful. They arrived via airline safe and happy, munching on their food and tweeting all of the way home in the car. The female, Darla, was very outgoing from day one…coming to me and eating out of my hand, the male, Spanky, a little more reserved but still interactive. Now they both go to work with me a couple of times a week. Everyone loves them as they are cute, friendly, and not too loud. They have learned to fly to me, step up and down, wave Hi, and give kisses…all of which they picked up very quickly.

The birdy bread is great! Darla and Spanky love it as do the rest of their birdie family, 2 Amazons, 2 cockatiels, and a canary.

Thank you for the fantastic and timely customer service. I contacted you on a Wednesday and I had my new healthy babies by Saturday. It's been a pleasure doing business with you. I will definitely recommend you to others.

Thanks again from Candace, Allison, Darla, and Spanky, Maryland

I just wanted to update you on my man Jose. He certainly is the "Man", If you remember he has adjusted nicely since the day he came home 3 weeks ago. He is now about 10 weeks old and just this morning he learned the "turn around" trick, we worked on it a bit on Tuesday and today he perfected it.When I come home from work I open the cage and tell him "mama has a snack for you" and he comes out of his cage in no time,if I don't tell him that, he waits until I do, but always hangs around the door as if to tease me, I wonder who is trained me or the bird! He eats a variety of foods, with broccoli and blackberries being his favorite- as a matter of fact his beak has blackberry stains right now as he had some for breakfast. He has gained 4 grams since coming home, we will weigh again tomorrow and I will not be surprised if he gains some more. He sings beautifully during the day, I look forward to the day he learns to talk. I have referred others to you, I hope that they receive the same service and delight as we have.

Thank you again for this little guy, he has certainly helped us re-feather our empty nest.

I must tell you that Mollie is the smartest bird I taught her just two times to make kissing noise picked it right up. I give her grapes then slice it in half along with apple in the mornings so her beak is getting stronger of course. She really listens for such a small bird so smart. She rings her bell when I ask her to 6 out of the ten times. Your birds aren't like the others. Their sweeter, gentle and key word smart. I know though if whomever reads my email will know that even in pet stores or other exotic stores they're kind of wild and need many hours days training and handling before reaching the tame faze. So thanks for breeding me my special smarty pants. Just love her.

This is a copy of the announcement of the adoption of our little birdies. They are doing great. We have all been able to hold them and each day I see that they are doing a little more, like exploring the toys. We are so happy with them. Everyone wants to see them. Hopefully I can get you some more business!!! Most of all I think they are happy. We are glad that we got both of them, I think we would have regretted getting just one. Thanks so much for all your help and mostly for raising these great little birds.

Christine, Don, Nick, Justin and Daisy, New Jersey

Hi everyone, We have just been adopted into a new flock. We came to our new home on September 22, after a long flight on an airplane from Alabama. Things are a bit different here. There are some other "birds" here but not as many as we are used to. There are 4 "birds" that talk to us and 1 that doesn't say too much - that one is the most curious of the bunch. All in all we are just getting used to these new surroundings. We have a pretty home with lots of perches and swings and toys and are having fun exploring everything. We are so happy that we have each other! We like to sit next to each other and soon we hope that we can trust the others to hang out with them and learn some new tricks. There is plenty of time for that, we are still just babies! So drop by and see us some time, we would love to meet you!

ps we are Parrotlets...the smallest parrot there is. (Astro is a dilute turqoise and Ava is a turquoise.)

I just wanted to thank you again for the 4 wonderful birds I got from you. The breeding pair and the pair of babies are absolutely spectacular and the babies are very sweet. The dilute turquoise girl we have named Jewel and she is gorgeous and also so sweet. The baby turquoise pied boy is now named Poseidon and is very special too. I am still struggling to get good pictures of them but they are so beautiful. Their good health radiates from them.

I also can't say enough about how incredible your customer service is. You have gone way beyond any expectations and have bent over backwards to help me. Your patience with what seemed to be endless questions was so refreshing. It was a pleasure to purchase these fantastic birds from you.

Thank you so much!

I apologize for this long overdue note! I wanted to update you on the girls and let you know they are doing great! I worried a lot about them settling in and being nervous in their first few days in a new setting. Well, that was a monumental waste of time. They were exploring their cage within minutes and now run and fly around it like they are on a racetrack. They both have distinctive personalities. Coco, who was the smaller one, is now bigger than her sister and is very sweet and loving. She gives kisses and is really friendly, allowing anyone to hold her. Then there is Tallulah..lol. I guess I should not have named a bird after the actress Tallulah Bankhead, who was supposedly brazen for her day. Bird Tallulah is the same way. She is not scared of anything, is the first to explore and pretty much wants everything her way. She walks upside down across the top of the cage, swings upside down, pushes Coco around and is quite a character. Yesterday she flew out of the cage and landed on my nose. lol. They are eating well and love oat groats, corn, pears and fight over apples. Both will eat any of these from my hand and never bite. They are so smart and we are really enjoying them! Max, my yorkie, is just mesmerized by them. He sits and watches them for hours and just can't take his eye off them. He's not allowed out of his crate when they are out right now, but hopefully that time will come. Until then, better safe than sorry!

Thanks Kelli...for everything! I'm sending some pictures of the girls and the cage. :-)

After having searched long and hard for a breeder I trusted I found Little Tweet. Everyone at Little Tweet answered all of my questions quickly and thoroughly even before I knew if I wanted a parrotlet! However, it didn't take long, these little guys and Little Tweet won my heart immediately. Not only did they raise my baby with sincere care and love, they became my friend along the way. Many a night I exchanged e-mails with Kelli. She helped me so much with preparation for my little guy and added to my excitement with picture updates!! I have a pacific green male parrotlet named Bean! He is the sweetest little guy and we learn and grow together more and more each day!! My friends and family absolutely adore him! My family likes to say "You can't give love if you haven't gotten it." You can tell these babies have gotten love from the day they hatched and will no doubt continue to receive it for the rest of their lives!

Thank you for being there every step of the way!

I cannot thank you enough for our second green rumped parrotlet, Pickles. She is doing so good and is socializing with her buddy, Tweeter, with no problems. I was afraid of putting the two of them together and how they would react. I did exactly as you said and let them stay in cages, side by side, so they could become used to each other. A few days later I put Tweeter into Pickles cage so they could get closer and to watch their behavior. Tweeter, the male and who is a bit smaller, is definitely the dominant guy. He picked on Pickles a little so I separated them. Finally I put them both on the floor with a spray of millet and they started becoming good buddies. If Pickles is eating something, then Tweeter feels he needs to share whatever she is eating. Whenever Tweeter walks, Pickles follows him. Last night they slept in the same cage together and were cuddling, one with its head against the others chest. It was cute beyond words.

Your website gets better and better. You provide such a wealth of common sense information on health, eating, breeding, speaking and socializing and it is all just wonderful and accurate. I even let them listen to the little CD you have on your site so that they can learn the phrases you have on there. They listen intently every time I put them to the computer.

I could not have gotten my babies from a better place than yours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am truly grateful for the care you have shown all your birds and the condition they arrive to us on. I even had my Pickles shipped and she arrived in as good condition. The airlines took very good care of our little girl and it was a very good experience so I highly recommend shipping.

I cannot say enough good things about Little Tweet. I do not think there is any other place that sells the quality of parrotlets as you do and that cares for them before and after the sale. You are always here whenever we have a question and always have the right answer to solve any problems.

Thank you so much for our two kidlets as we love them so very much.

Love to both of you,
Jean, Rick, Tweeter and Pickles, Georgia

Hi Kelli!!

Hope you guys are doing well. I just wanted to thank you again for our little baby, Louie. Our house hasn't been the same since he came home. For the smallest member of the family, he sure has run of the roost around here! He loves to hop on everyone's shoulder and "preen" them. I'm blessed to be the only one who gets birdie kisses all the time (I don't even have to ask.. He just reaches out and smooches me right on the lips!) I've been unofficially called a birdie masseuse by my kids because I give Louie his birdie massages right before bed. He ruffles his little feathers to let us know he wants to be scritched, and if we don't do it just right, he chirps and pecks until we do! :0)

Attached are those long awaited pictures I promised you. Miles downloaded and sorted them so I could finally figure out how to post them! I can't tell you enough how much we enjoyed working with you. You are such wonderful people! We were absolutely amazed at how much time and effort you spend on your babies. I can see it in Louie! We look forward to keeping in touch with you and sending you frequent updates and pictures.

Thanks!

We have had a couple of parrotlets and our last one passed away in April this year. My husband and I missed Pickles and new we could not go on without having another green-rumped parrolet in our lives. I searched the internet looking for a good breeder who showed knowledge in the raising, parenting and health of parrotlets. After checking out several sites, I found "littletweet.com" and the information on their site had all I was looking for in a new parrotlet. I looked through everything they wrote and decided we were going to get our new baby from them.

They contacted us about our new parrotlet when he was born and sent pictures and updates on his progress. We already had a name picked out for our little boy so they started calling him, Tweeter, so he would know his name. On our arrival date, we were greeted and shown our Tweeter. Any questions we had were answered with no problems. The environment that he was raised in is clean and healthy so we were very pleased to know he came from a clean, smoke-free environment with plenty of love, care and attention.

Tweeter's feathers are beautiful and he is a very healthy little boy. We had him checked out by our avian vet and she was very impressed with his colors, chattiness, activeness and overall health. As a matter of fact, she has a parrotlet and is thinking of getting another after seeing how beautiful and healthy our Tweeter is. Due to the quality of our bird, we have decided to go ahead and purchase another male and hope to get him in the next six weeks.

I highly recommend purchasing a parrotlet from Little Tweet as they know what they are doing, take exceptional care of their parrotlets and are more than willing to answer any questions you may have about these precious birds. I could not have asked for a better set of substitute parents for our little boy and are looking forward to the arrival of our next little boy.

So happy with our new parrotlet and enjoying every minute with him.

We were so pleased with our new parrotlets, Indigo and Pearl, that I mentioned to Little Tweet that I thought we'd like to eventually get another pair of parrotlets, a Yellow and a Turquoise Pied. I hadn't even mentioned this idea to the rest of my family because I figured we'd wait about a year or so to add any more parrotlets to our family.

Little Tweet wrote me back, telling me about the very special Yellow boy that was being hand-fed and was about to be weaned. I understood that this little boy had a great deal of personality and I immediately saw that this was no overexaggeration, given how appealing and doggone cute he was in his photos. It also turned out that this Yellow parrotlet was born just a little bit later than our Pearl from the same clutch of eggs so, technically, he is Pearl's little brother. I took one look at his photo and immediately forwarded the email from Little Tweet to my husband at work. To me, this Yellow parrotlet looked like a very amusing little yellow ducky and I fell in love at first sight. My husband could also see this little guy's charisma and given our positive experiences with Pearl and Indigo, my husband whole-heartedly and enthusiastically told me to contact Little Tweet to make the purchase.

We named this special fella, Benny. Not only is he in perfect physical condition, he is, without a doubt, the personification (birdification?) of the word "cute". Benny is affectionate, imploring us for scritches as soon as we were able to hold him. He gets so into his scritches, he basically stretches out onto our hands and closes his eyes as if he was thinking, "Ahhhhhh". He will eat seed and treats out of our hand and easily goes on his back to let us stroke his belly. Benny's cage is near to my laptop and when I sit down to work, he hops over to that side of his cage and bobs his head so I will take him out to play. Benny will eat millet next to my arm or waddle around my kitchen desk exploring every item. The really nice thing is that Benny has immediately assimilated himself into the little flock of birds I already have in my kitchen. He gets along quite well with Pearl and Indigo (they like to fly over for visits on his cage, especially if they can eat his millet through the bars) and even our large Cockatiel, Isis. Benny is just a very open-minded, confident fella who wants to know everything about us and our world.

My birthday was yesterday so we had an especially full house with company. Benny, along with Indigo and Pearl, were very much the entertainment! The parrotlets would hang upside down on our large java tree play stand and fweep for attention. With all the different, beautiful colors, it looked like I had Easter eggs lined up on a branch. All three birds let "the strangers" hold them immediately and without any hesitation. I think they totally won over the hearts of everyone who came to visit. I simply cannot express how charming parrotlets can be, especially the parrotlets from Little Tweet. It is obvious that a great deal of time was spent nurturing each baby bird as they developed and this effort on the part of Little Tweet yields an extraordinary companion pet.

Now that I've had a little time with a few parrotlets, I've had the chance to compare the parrotlet to our existing birds, four parakeets and one cockatiel. By comparison and to their credit, parrotlets are much quieter than parakeets but also much more interactive. Parrotlets are extremely intelligent, so much like the larger parrots it is easy to forget how small they are. The longer lifespan (longer than parakeets) is another huge bonus. I also note that parrotlets are no more messy than parakeets and not at all "dusty" like cockatiels. I think parrotlets are also exceptionally beautiful birds. Benny is a neon yellow (actually one of my daughter's favorite color) with "eye shadow" markings of pale violet and white. Under his wings is the most gorgeous color of purple and because Benny is so delicately marked, he appears air brushed. Parrotlets really are, in our minds, the perfect bird in every way - intelligence, temperament, beauty and easy maintenance.

As for that Turquoise Pied, we all are looking forward to adding her to our feathered family in a month or so.

We first found out about Parrotlets when we visited Parrot Mountain in Sevierville, Tennesee. It was a Parrot Reserve that had all different types of breeds. They had Parrotlets that were being hand-fed in the nursery. We couldn't believe how wonderful they were. The baby that we saw would just sit on your finger and love on you when you tried to give it a hug. My daughter, Sarah quickly fell in love with the breed.

We had talked about getting a bird and had decided on a cockatiel. However, after seeing the parrotlets, we quickly changed our minds and starting researching parrotlets. We came upon Little Tweet on the internet and the website gave us the information that we were looking for. Little Tweet was so helpful and informative and the shipping of little "Kiwi" was so easy. Kiwi has become part of our family and we love him so much. He loves sitting on Sarah's shoulder and cuddling underneath her hair. I can't imagine not having him in our home.

Thank you so much Little Tweet!

I initially fell in love with parrotlets at a chain petstore, of all places. I had never even heard of parrotlets until that fateful day in December 2009 but once I saw the little gems, I knew I had to do some research and find out more. Through my research, I came across Little Tweet's aviary.

The truth is, we did look into some other aviaries -- not that there are too many aviaries specializing in parrotlets, especially quality parrotlets, in the U.S. But we were very impressed with Little Tweet from the very beginning.

First of all, Little Tweet's website is terrific. There is a wealth of information available and it is obvious that they put a great deal of time and effort in maintaining a very user-friendly and informative website. Additionally, the prices of their parrotlets are a bargain, especially compared to what I saw at the pet store in December 2009, which are selling individually for at least $100 over Little Tweet's prices. Even better, the quality of Little Tweet's parrotlets is significantly higher.

Our new babies, Indigo and Pearl (a blue mutation and a white) are living testimony to the health and vigor of the parrotlets Little Tweet are breeding. Indigo and Pearl have gorgeous plummage, glossy opalescent beaks and came to us with healthy appetites as well as healthy droppings (which is not the case, as we sadly noticed, of the pet-shop parrotlets). Our parrotlets have clearly never had a bad moment in their lives because they demonstrate curosity and an easy-going friendliness we all find both remarkable and charming. There is no frantic flapping around in the cage and the birds seem calm and confident.

One of our parrotlets was more reluctant than the other to wean and so we experienced several necessary delays in shipping. We were fine with waiting until both babies were completely ready but, more importantly, Little Tweet was not about to let the baby parrotlet out the door if it wasn't completely weaned. It would have been so much easier to just ship the baby parrotlets but they really care about each and every parrotlet in their aviary and each one gets careful care and consideration. I respect Little Tweet very much as a breeder and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Besides being an excellent parrotlet breeder, I am very impressed with Little Tweet's diligence in responding to my emails and thoroughly and patiently answer my questions. I'm not sure they get much sleep because they always put the parrotlets and the customers first. Little Tweet sent me beautiful photos of our babies several times so I could send the photos around to our family and friends in anticipation of the baby parrotlets' arrival. I have rarely seen such incredible, personalized customer service. Getting to know Little Tweet was one of the best aspects of purchasing our parrotlets and I think they are some of the very kindest and most thoughtful people I know. It makes me feel great knowing that my baby parrotlets were welcomed into the world by such nice people.

As for parrotlets themselves, I am amazed to see that these parrotlets actually live up to and actually exceed the hype as well as my high expectations. As promised, Indigo and Pearl came to us knowing "step-up" and giving kisses. Just three days later, they have evolved into very interactive and highly entertaining members of our household. I can cup Indigo and Pearl in my hands on their backs and they let me pretty much stroke, give stritches, and kiss them as I please (which means I kiss them a lot!). The parrotlets like to sit on my husband's shoulder while he works on the computer, and they like to nest in my daughter's hair and play peek-a-boo from behind her neck. Indigo and Pearl also like to sit on our cockatiel's special shower perch in the bathroom and this morning the parrotlets even helped me wake my four children by sitting on the headboards and happily fweep-fweeping! I think we're going to have a delightful 20-30 years together and I will treasure every moment. Parrotlets just make everything in life more special!

I really love the fact that we purchased two parrotlets together for additional companionship. Our little parrotlets are so devoted to each other and watching their little relationship develop is just one more enjoyable aspect of parrotlet ownership. I also haven't noticed that their devotion to each other will interfere with our ability to bond individually with the parrotlets. There is clearly more than enough love to go around. I highly recommend buying two parrotlets together.

Dear Little Tweet,

I wanted to take the time to tell you how happy my husband and I are with our new baby, Mr. Peep.  I had never heard of  parrotlets  until I stumbled upon your website.  Once I started familiarizing myself  with them, I knew I had to have one.

From the very beginning, Little Tweet was very professional, helpful, and caring. All of my emails and phone calls were answered promptly anytime I had a concern, no matter how small.

Mr. Peep arrived safe and sound complete with a bag of quality seed and some millet spray.  Within 10 minutes of being introduced to his cage, he was eating, chirping, and playing with his toys.  He adjusted quite well to his new home and the long flight didn't seem to phase him.

He spoke his first words, "step up" at 3 1/2 months of age.  He just turned 4 months and is going through his first molt.  Even while going through a stressful molt, his vocabulary continues to grow! His most recent words are "pretty bird" and "pretty bir-deeeeee.  He also mimics the sound of kisses.  Each day, when I open his cage to take him out, he comes running over to me and gives me kisses. He loves to snuggle and have his head scratched.  He is the cutest!

I feel very lucky to have found Little Tweet.  You raised a well-adjusted, friendly, happy and
healthy pet bird for us. As far as breeders go, you are a rare find.  We know that you truly love your parrotlets and are genuinely concerned for their health and well-being.

I would recommend you to anyone looking for a parrotlet. In my opinion, Little Tweet is the best that there is. Thank you for everything!

Dear Little Tweet,

Thank you for all you're done for us and our little Lincoln. When we first starting thinking about getting another bird after our beloved parakeet Harvey died, I really thought we were going to get another parakeet. I started looking online for where to buy a hand fed parakeet because my husband wanted a hand fed baby this time around. When I started my online search I came across hand fed parrotlets. I had never even heard of a parrotlet but was very excited about the idea of a parrot the size of a parakeet. There is no question the best website is yours at Little Tweet. It's the most informative, easiest to navigate and left me with the clear impression you were quality breeders.

This was confirmed the first time I talked to you on the phone and the many subsequent e-mails. When I spoke to Little Tweet about whether we should choose a Green rumped or Pacific blue, Little Tweet suggested the Pacific blue because they were less shy and would be good around our grandchildren. Little Tweet was absolutely right as evidenced by the attached photos. June is two years old and Lincoln really made her day when he climbed up onto her shoulder.

Little Tweet is the best. The testimonials I read on your website were further proof to me about how good you really are. I hope this one convinces anyone looking for a parrotlet to look no further than your website for the bird of their dreams. I confirm what everyone says about you and more. You have been so responsive to all our questions right from the beginning and I know I can ask you anything. Thanks again.

Best wishes,

After my Parrotlet died I knew I could not live without my little bird. I checked out a lot of different breeders
but Little Tweet stood out and above all of them. I contacted them. They answered all my questions promptly.
I picked out with there help a beautiful baby dilute blue girl. It has been 2 weeks now and she is all settled in and she thinks I am her mommy. Thank you Little Tweet you put a lot of love into raising these babies.

Just wanted to thank Little Tweet for raising my baby boy. I have named him Jack and he has settled into his new home quite well. I would like to thank Little Tweet for the remarkable job you did raising him and the seamless and painless shipping of my new bird. All of my questions that I had and still have are promptly answered by Kelli, even after I had received the bird. This tells me that Little Tweet is a breeder that actually cares about their animals and wants to make sure that all the birds that they breed are well taken care of by their new owners. I would highly recommend buying your parrotlet(s) from Little Tweet.

I love my 2 babies (Princes & Blue)! They are so sweet! When I get up in the morning I can't wait to see and hear their sweet little tweet they make. If I leave I can't wait to get home to see them. If I had a bad day they always cheer me up! I want to thank Little Tweet for getting them to me so safely. If you are at all thinking about getting Parrotlets I would get them from Little Tweet. They come already friendly and tame. Thanks again!

Our blue parrotlet (his name is Miles) arrived a month ago and I just wanted to let you know that he is a great addition to the family. We followed the directions for bringing our bird home, and after a few days he warmed up to us. Now he loves to come out and sit on a lap while having his neck scratched. We have noticed that he is much more playful and curious as time goes on. It is fun to watch him play with all his toys while chirping delightedly. He is even beginning to mimic a few sounds, like kissing and whistling.

If any of our friends decide they want a pet bird we'll be sure to tell them about you.

We are so glad to have discovered parrotlets and Little Tweet! Little Tweet's informative website and Kelli's e-mails answered many questions we had and helped us prepare to welcome our beautiful Green Pacific parrotlet - "P-pod". He is adjusting quickly to us and his new home, and we just love the sweet little guy! We just LOVE P-pod.  My husband texts me from work to ask how he is doing, and my son dashes to P-pod to greet when he comes home from school. :) We highly recommend parrotlets and Little Tweet to people who are seeking for a perfect little bird that will entertain you for years to come.

Thanks!

Kelli (Little Tweet),

My wife and I just wanted to tell you how much we love our blue parrotlet, Miles. After our 20 year old cockatiel died we were afraid we would never find a bird as smart or sweet, but then we discovered Little Tweet's wonderful website. Little Tweet was great from beginning to end. We began emailing and asking questions while vacationing at the beach, and Little Tweet was the only aviary to contact us back. Every email was promptly returned, and we certainly emailed them often. Kelli answered all my questions and arranged the shipping for our little guy. He arrived happy and alert, and after following the directions on the Little Tweet website he became social very quickly. Miles is the best little bird--his colors are brilliant, and he has as much intelligence and personality as any large parrot (without the huge mess). Thanks again Little Tweet.

Sincerely,

Eric W.- North Carolina

I can't begin to tell you how much we love our new little guy "Papi" he is so wonderful. My son Carter, his best buddy, loves him so much. He hangs out in his hoodie sweatshirt's hood or on Carters head when he's reading, doing homework or playing games. Papi is so gentle and truly an amazing addition to our family. He's already "stepping up",
going to bed on request and gives kisses. I love his attitude and temperment and know it's a testament to your upbringing!

Thank you again! I bet their kinda like potato chips...how can anyone have just one!

Best to you

Hi! Tweety is doing great. She is quite a treat. She loves to be petted and makes little noises when we rub her head and scratch her back. Recently heard her say pretty bird while she was in her cage. She has become a part of the family, we all talk to her and handle her.

My husband is just amazed at how tame she was right from the get go. When we picked her up she was not at all afraid or timid. She rode my shoulder the whole way home and gave me kisses immediately. We wouldn't part with her.

I've attached a couple of photos of her on her swing which is amongst her many toys. Mostly she likes playing with my aphgan fringes. She likes to groom my husbands mustache also. I am ultimately pleased that I chose Little Tweet to purchase my bird.

Hello Little Tweet,

I want you to know how much I appreciate your careful breeding and love you show to the babies you raise.  They are raised in such a way that makes them fit right into a new household.  I have had many, many babies from the largest cockatoo to the smallest finch but your babies are the sweetest from day one I have ever encountered. I'm looking forward to many years with these precious babies.

Attached you will see happy Rami and Winter on their play stand.

Little Tweet was fabulous all the way up to when I picked up my new baby bird. Kelli responded to all my emails really quickly, even sent pictures of my little guy while I was waiting to get him. He was flown to Ohio to me and he arrived safely in a really nice travel carrier with food, water and a perch. He is really healthy and happy. He immediately bonded with me and played in his cage the first night like he's been in it all his life. He's a great eater and already chirps back to me! I really appreciate having the opportunity to own a rare, sweetie like him. Thanks for everything Kelli!!!

Thanks so much for bringing Calvin and Hobbes into my life.  "The Boys" are delightful - they are sweet, comical and friendly.  You did a wonderful job raising them for the first couple of months, and I like forward to years of companionship.  I very much appreciated that you provided me with photos and videos as they grew, and also appreciated the careful manner in which they were shipped across country to join me in California.

Thanks again,

Little Tweet-

My new green rump baby is so sweet! Being hand fed and extremely tame is such a difference, well worth the extra cost. He immediately stepped up on my finger, eats anything out of my hand, and is social and unafraid of the family traffic (dogs included). Even his loudest noise is quite soft compared to other small birds I have heard. Most importantly, he is becoming a member of the family, very cute and cuddly. Thanks again for all your information and the patience and time you put into raising these sweet little birds!

We purchased 3 beautiful Green Rump Parrotlets named Mary Tyler and Moore and a stunningly beautiful Lutino Pacific Parrotlet named Georgette. The entire process was very smooth and professional. The information and updates throughout including the videos of the babies were very much appreciated! The babies arrived healthy and comfortable with people..and they almost always get the, "OMG they are so little and beautiful"! from co- workers and friends when I show them pics and vids...I would highly recommend Little Tweet to anyone who wants beautiful and tame parrotlets! When we get more parrotlets, we will be going back to Little Tweet! Thanks for the beautiful babies!

I just purchased a beautiful baby parrotlet from Little Tweet Aviary. It was a wonderful experience. I met the owners, at their aviary in Pensacola, Florida. I was impressed to note that the parrotlets are raised inside their home and treated as precious members of the family. It is plain to see the love and expertise that has gone into raising their  parrotlets.  Little Tweet have had many years of experience in breeding and raising parrotlets exclusively. Their parrotlets are so beautiful and sweet because they have been thoughtfully and lovingly bred at their home. Each baby parrotlet is hand-fed and well-socialized by Little Tweets devoted hands. Kelli was happy to answer my many questions about feeding and caring for my new baby parrotlet. My little “Tina” is a 6 week-old blue pacific parrotlet. She is really beautiful and very sweet. She likes to perch on my finger and snuggle on my shoulder making happy birdie sounds. She has settled into her new home with us very easily.  I feel so fortunate to have purchased my new baby parrotlet from Little Tweet Aviary.

Dear Little Tweet,

I’ve been meaning to write you a letter about the baby parrotlet ("Mimi") which I purchased from you last summer.

Mimi is an absolute doll. All our friends love this little gal. Mimi loves my husband and gets really excited when he comes home from work!

Mimi started talking almost immediately. I was amazed as I did nothing very special to encourage it. The first month she was with us I kept her in my kitchen and would carry her out to the living room when I watched TV. I was concerned how my dog and cat would react but they ignore her. No crisis here.

I have since moved the cage to the top of my kitchen counter so she gets a lot of attention.
Back to the talking - I started out by just repeating the same thing to her over and over again a few times a day - nothing more. The first thing was "Happy Girl" which came naturally as that's what she is! By the end of December she was talking.

It was suggested to me that to help her to talk I needed to slow down my speech and as a result of my slowing down my speaking, what she says is clear and distinct. I got her to say "Are you talking to MEEEEEE?"

Here are some other words Mimi says:

Sweet Baby
Daddy’s Girl
Hello
Goodbye
Whatcha doin cutie?
I can’t hear you
Come to Mamma
Get back here. NOW!

She eats well. Her favorites are broccoli, strawberries and kiwi. She also likes oranges, grapes, celery, peas, apples and pears.

Mimi has lots of toys to play with and her current favorite is a new hamster cage. She makes us laugh and delights our friends as you know from the birds you’ve sold to our friends. We love her and recommend your aviary to everyone we know!

Best Wishes,

Lee Ann Brown
